**VAIL REACHES MILESTONE: 100 INCHES CUMULATIVE SNOWFALL**

~Early Season Conditions Better Than Most Years~

Vail, Colorado—November 29, 2010--Thanksgiving is not usually known as a gift giving holiday, but Mother Nature has graced Vail with a late Thanksgiving gift on Sunday night of more than 100 inches of snow cumulatively this ski season.  Snow totals measured at Vail Cascade Resort have been significant enough to open the property’s own chairlift, bringing ski-in/ski-out access to the AAA Four Diamond property’s guests.  Generally, the 100 inch milestone is reached in late January of good snow years—to have reached that benchmark by the third week of November is great news for the world-famous ski area.

Weather experts claim that a seasonal weather pattern known as “la Nina” typically brings higher-than-average snowfalls to areas from the middle of the Rocky Mountains to points north.  Vail area snow tends to be “fluffier” than average due to low moisture content, earning to moniker “Champagne Powder”.  Vail Mountain is reporting approximately 3,000 skiable acres open, including the iconic “Back Bowls” with powder conditions.  The main thoroughfare to Vail, I-70, remains open with snow tires or chains recommended and periodically required.  All shuttles from Denver International Airport, Eagle Airport and other flight centers are running on a consistent schedule.
