Vail Cascade Resort holds "Candlelight Night", a benefit for Habitat for Humanity
An evening of dining illuminated by hundred of twinkling lights~
For Immediate Release:
Vail, Colorado—June 10, 2010--Atwater on Gore Creek at the Vail Cascade Resort will again host “Candlelight Night” this Saturday, June 12. The success of the inaugural Candlelight Night dinner last March provided an opportunity not only to save energy, but to also donate a portion of proceeds to Habitat for Humanity of Eagle and Lake Counties. The chance to let diners once again enjoy creek-side award winning dining in this unique and beneficial way compelled the hotel and restaurant, managed by Destination Hotels and Resorts, to bring the popular evening back for a summertime experience. The Vail Cascade Resort’s signature restaurant Atwater, overlooking Gore Creek, will illuminate the deck, tavern and dining area with hundreds of candles creating a twinkling and magical atmosphere. Not only a romantic and reflective evening, the experiential event outlines the resort’s commitment to Destination Earth, a program of the conservation of natural resources, and additionally, 10% of the evening's proceeds once more will be donated to Habitat for Humanity of Eagle and Lake Counties.
Habitat for Humanity of Eagle & Lake Counties is currently building sixteen homes in Edwards that are LEED certified, providing housing for local families that is “earth friendly”. Building homes is the main aspect of the local charity, but Habitat also provides an affordable alternative through the sale of gently used home furnishings and reusable building materials through the Habitat Home Outlet. All funds raised at the store provide an opportunity for community members to work together to provide warm, safe homes. Additionally, Habitat raises money through their Cars for Homes program accepting donated vehicles and working with local high school students to upgrade the vehicles for sale. All initiatives not only give back to Eagle County, but are also recycling efforts that will help create and maintain a sustainable global environment.
“The donations by Atwater are a welcome gift that will be used locally in our efforts at Habitat for Humanity of the Eagle and Lake Counties. We look forward to working with The Vail Cascade Resort on future projects that will benefit those in need,” stated Kristi Moon, Public Relations representative for Habitat for Humanity.
The evening will begin at 5:30 and reservations are strongly recommended at 970-479-7014. Visit Atwater on Gore Creek at the Vail Cascade Resort at www.vailcascade.com.
