Vail Cascade Resort Appoints Two New Sales Managers to Oversee National Sales Strategy
Vail Cascade Welcomes Theresa Patten and Elizabeth Ratliff
VAIL, CO – Nov. 12, 2012 – Brett Schoenfield, general manager at Vail Cascade Resort, has named Theresa Patten and Elizabeth Ratliff national sales managers to oversee the hotel’s domestic group sales market. Specifically, Patten will manage Social, Education, Government, Religious and Fraternal market segments while Ratliff will direct association, ski groups and some special corporate groups. Both Ratliff and Patten will be based in the Denver sales office for Vail Cascade Resort. Both managers join at an exciting time as the AAA Four Diamond hotel undergoes a multi-million guestroom redesign and Vail prepares for a year-long celebration to commemorate its 50th anniversary.
A Colorado native and University of Denver graduate, Patten is an accomplished hospitality professional with nearly 25 years of sales experience in the Colorado market. Patten’s career includes a diverse subset of hospitality sales that encompasses meeting and convention group sales, Vail Resorts ski and seasonal pass sales, leisure special events and tour operator and tourism group sales. This career track, coupled with her familiarity of the Vail Valley, has helped Patten develop unique sales strategies she hopes to leverage at Vail Cascade Resort. During her hospitality tenure, she has held senior-level sales positions at Westin Tabor Center, Vail Resorts, Riverwalk Clubhouse and most recently at Globus Family of Brands. Patten received her Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) designation in 1994.
A Boston College graduate, Ratliff re-located to Vail in 2003 and launched her hospitality career which today includes nearly a decade of group sales, marketing communications and special events experience combined with firsthand familiarity of the Vail market. For five years, she held various sales and marketing positions at Vail Resorts’ Vail and Beaver Creek properties. In these roles, she supported direct and national sales efforts, leisure and special events and marketing communications. In 2007, she changed positions within Vail Resorts and joined Red Sky Golf Club as special events manager where she helped standardize employee service programs to enhance customer satisfaction. Most recently, she served as sales manager at The Curtis in downtown Denver where she specialized in association, government and corporate markets.
“Vail’s 50th anniversary celebration kicks off in December and we are excited to welcome celebrants with newly redesigned guestrooms that elegantly blend style and comfort,” said Schoenfield. “We are excited to have Theresa and Elizabeth at the helm of our sales efforts helping us spread the word about the many new experiences that await both the group and leisure traveler in Vail.”
