Condé Nast Traveler Readers Recognize the Vail Cascade Resort As One of the ‘Top 50 Ski Hotels’ in 2012

VAIL, Colo. – Nov. 29, 2012 – In the December issue of Condé Nast Traveler, a record 46,476 readers cast their vote for the Top 20 Ski Resorts and Top 50 Ski Hotels in North America. Colorado nearly swept the ski resorts list, securing eight of the 20 spots with Vail ranking No. 7 on the list. In the ski hotels list, Colorado once again dominated the list securing 24 of the 50 spots. The AAA Four Diamond Vail Cascade Resort was one of seven Vail hotels to earn this distinctive award. The Vail Cascade Resort, a premier Colorado mountain resort, placed 26 on the ‘Top 50 Ski Hotels’ list, earning its highest mark in the Activities/Facilities category for distinctive amenities like ski-in/ski-out access, creek-side infinity edge pool, complimentary shuttle service, Vail Colorado creek-side dining and Aria Club & Spa.
For the third time this year, Condé Nast Traveler readers honored the Vail Cascade Resort offerig Vail vacation home rentals and packages with a distinguished reader’s choice award. Earlier this year, the hotel claimed the No. 18 spot on the ‘Top 40 Resorts in the West’ and its spa, Aria Spa, secured the No. 24 spot on the ‘Top 100 Resort Spas – U.S. Mainland’ list.
Since 1988, Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ have judged individual candidates according to relevant criteria for each award. For this survey, readers used a five-point scale to rank hotels on six criterions, including: rooms, service, dining/food, location, overall design, and activities/facilities. The Vail Cascade Resort earned its highest ratings for its activities/facilities (93.9) and location (92) followed by above average ratings for its design (88.3), rooms (87.6), service (86.7), and food (82.40). The 88.5 average of these six categories earned the Vail Cascade Resort the No. 26 spot on the ‘Top 50 Ski Hotels’ list.
