Meetings in Vail in Glorious Summertime
Strategic Accounts Representative Margaret Coyle discusses how amazing summer in Vail is~
My name is Margaret Coyle, your financial/insurance contact at Vail Cascade, Colorado’s premier meeting destination.
At the base of Vail Mountain, meaningful connections are made at Vail Cascade. The Rocky Mountain's preeminent meeting conference resort combines versatile meeting spaces, personalized service and an inspiring environment to create memorable experiences from 18 to 500.
We all know the word Vail conjures up the best in skiing, over 5000 acres of the best skiing in the world. And with our own onsite chair lift, Vail Cascade is the ideal location for any ski meeting. As a result, winter speaks for itself in Vail.
I would like to bring your attention to another side of Vail few ever experience. Imagine yourself in a scene of A River Runs Through It, fly fishing on peaceful gold medal waters. Picture yourself in The Sound of Music on a beautiful scenic hike amongst vibrant, colorful wild flowers. For the more adventurous, see yourself in Race for your Life Charlie Brown, navigating through category 5 rapids. And for a relaxing experience, place yourself in August Rush, sitting on a beautiful lawn with a picnic basket full of fruit, cheese, crackers and choice of wine, enjoying the sounds of the talented New York Philharmonic or Philadelphia Orchestra. This is summer in Vail and the Vail Cascade does not disappoint.
Colorado has been blessed with over 9000 miles of rivers and only 168 miles of these are considered gold medal waters. Vail Cascade is fortunate to have a portion of the 168 miles run directly behind the resort.
Also behind the resort is a bike path. Guests are able to rent a bike at Charter Sports on property and then ride the bike path ½ mile to the Eagle Bahn Gondola. There you can ride the Gondola to the top of Vail Mountain and then bike down toward the bottom. The same green, blue, black diamond, etc. applies to bike trails as it does to ski trails.
White water rafting is a huge draw in Colorado. 6 miles west rafters can let out into the Eagle River and experience category 4 -5 rapids through Dowd Shute.
Hiking is always a summer favorite. Trails are abundant throughout the valley all leading to beautiful scenic vistas. Hiking is for all levels with a fouteener trail head only 15 minutes away – Mount of the Holy Cross
Finally, each summer, there are three weeks when beautiful music is played at the Ford Amphitheater. For the past few years it has been a constant with the New York Philharmonic and the Philadelphia Orchestra. While there is covered seating – there is nothing like sitting out in the open air with a delicious picnic and enjoying the wonderful music of Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms and more.
Summer weather in Vail is glorious. Having grown up in New Jersey and having lived in four different locations of Florida, I can tell you Vail is like no other. No humidity, very little bugs and just gorgeous sunny weather. We have a saying – you come to Vail to ski, but wind up staying because of summer. That is what keeps me here for 4 years running.
Please contact me the next time your travels include Rocky Mountain summer travel.
