Atwater Beer Buzz August 16

Greetings from the cooler! It’s Odell Brewmaster’s Weekend, and we have really cool events scheduled on both Friday and Saturday with Doug Odell, Founder/Brewmaster of Odell Brewing Co. in Ft. Collins, CO. Do you have your Saturday "Small Plates & Odell Pairing" reservations yet?

Friday’s “Meet the Brewmaster” is an open tasting from 4–7pm, so you’re welcome to come enjoy Odell beers at your leisure. Saturday, though, we'll probably sell out and we don’t want you to miss the tasty pairings and interesting informational dialogue that Doug Odell and our culinary team offer. Cruise your way through four different (large) small plate pairings and the corresponding Odell craft beers…all for just $20! View the menu. We don't know about you but, we're looking forward to trying the "Affogato”! To make reservations, call Atwater at 970-479-7014 or email Laura and we'll be sure to hold seats for you.

On another fun note, the USA Pro Cycling Challenge stages their Colorado Tour next week, from Monday 8/20 through Sunday 8/26. New Belgium Brewing Company is sponsoring this event, and we will be supporting the Tour with $5 Fat Tire bottles all week, as well as tuning in from Aria Club, Fireside Bar and Atwater on Gore Creek to watch the race. Find more information about the race

Looking forward to September, we'll be hosting another amazing Brewmaster’s Weekend September 7th and 8th with the Colorado Brewers Guild. John Carlson, Executive Director of the CBG, will be bringing three member breweries along with him (Trinity, Rockyard & Three Barrel) and they'll be hosting a more formal dinner. Additional information will follow next week. We are having a menu development tasting and the menu will be available for your perusal quite soon.

One more item of future interest: if you’re interested in a behind-the-scenes personal tour of the Great American Beer Festival, Jeff Mendel and JoAnne Carilli-Stevenson will be offering an all-inclusive tour on Saturday, October 13th. The tour will be limited to 24 guests; 12 for each guide, and will leave from and return to Boulder. The tour will include a guided tasting at the GABF Members Only Session, including a “You Be the Judge” seminar and a small plates & beer pairing at The Amato Alehouse, led by the corresponding brewers from outside of Colorado. Event cost also includes an American Homebrewers Association membership.

Vail Cascade and Atwater on Gore Creek are planning fun programming for GABF as well, so stay tuned here for the scoop!
