$30 million Vail Cascade Resort & Spa renovation continues

The $30 million Vail Cascade Resort & Spa renovation continues with a focus on three major projects: continuing installation of the new air conditioning system in all guest rooms in the hotel; a spa locker room remodel; and reconstruction of the creek side patio and pool area.

Air conditioning installation has been completed in the Terrace Wing of the hotel and continues in the Main Building. Construction of the cooling tower area will continue for several weeks.

Construction in the women’s locker room is on-pace for completion in mid-August. Once completed, the newly renovated women’s locker room will be retrofitted to accommodate use by both men and women while crews begin demolition of the men’s locker room for renovation.

Crews will begin pouring concrete for all hard surfaces of the new creek side patio and pool area. Work in this area also includes a below-grade system installation of a new cooling tower area.

Completion of the Vail Cascade Resort & Spa transformation is scheduled for December 2008. The new look will include a remodeled and updated porte cochere, a new pool, hot tub and deck – complete with outdoor firepit – overlooking Gore Creek and Vail Mountain, a new café serving grab-and-go meals and Starbucks® beverages, an update for Chap’s and the Fireside Bar, and additional meeting space bringing the resort’s total to over 50,000 square feet.
