Sunshine and blue skies have come to stay!

It was a beautiful summertime day today, and we're optimistic that we can keep it. The snowmelt is bringing the rivers up quickly, so rafting is rocking and the wildflowers are beginning to bloom. It's going to be an amazing wildflower summer with all of the snow that we had this winter!

In the land of craft beer, we've been working hard to bring you the menu for our Left Band Brewmaster's Weekend as early as possible. So we received the Small Plates & Craft Beer Pairings craft beer selection from Eric Wallace, and picked up samples from Sarah to get our menu development underway.

The beers that were chosen for this year's Left Hand Small Plates & Craft Beer Pairings event are as follows:

  • Left Hand Good Juju
  • Left Hand Sawtooth Ale
  • Left Hand Stranger Pale Ale
  • Left Hand Black Jack Porter

...and there's a rumor that there might be an extra bonus course as a tribute to Nick's college fund (Eric's son that has joined him for our Brewmaster's Weekends), which would require some Milk Stout Nitro.

The menu development tasting was held Thursday, and the variety of suggestions & directions that each course could take was tremendous. So we'll let the dust settle and look forward to a final menu from the Atwater on Gore Creek culinary team sometime this week.

If you are interested in reserving your seat early for the Small Plates event on Saturday, July 19th at 6:00pm, please feel free to email me to hold your seats. Seats are $35++ with a 50 guest maximum. The amount of inquiries that have been received indicate that we will likely have a sold out event, so stake your claim whenever your schedule is definite.

Friday afternoon's Meet the Brewmaster is very informal and complimentary, with an opportunity to try several different Left Hand craft beers and visit with Eric Wallace, co-Founder and President of Left Hand Brewing Co. It's an "as you can make it" type of evening in the Fireside Bar from 4-7pm on Friday, July 18th.

We hope you can join us for one evening or both, and will certainly let you know as soon as we have a final menu for the Small Plates & Craft Beer Pairings event. It will be delicious and informative, so put us on your calendar and we'll look forward to seeing you soon!

Vail Restaurants Kick Off Annual Summer Cruiser Crawl

Vail lures locals and visitors outdoors with its warm temperatures, beautiful scenery and friendly vibe, but three Vail restaurants are looking to entice folks to get out on the town with the annual Cruiser Crawl summer program. Kicking off Wednesday, June 11, the 2014 Vail Cruiser Crawl series is a free, monthly outing that takes bicyclists on a five-mile loop with libation hydration stops at The Fitz in Manor Vail Lodge, Vail Chophouse in Lionshead, and Atwater on Gore Creek, Vail Cascade's signature creekside restaurant, offering a journey through the world of creative cuisine, handcrafted brews, customized beer flights and artisan food pairings.

At each Cruiser Crawl, participants will receive a Crawl Pass they can use at each stop to purchase signature drinks. Participants that stop at any one of the Cruiser Crawl locations will also receive one punch on their Crawl Pass per stop, for a total of up to three punches. Each punch can be redeemed for one raffle ticket at the final Cruiser Crawl stop for a chance to win a TREK Cruiser bike, valued at $600! A new bike will be given away at each Cruiser Crawl. Participants must be present to win and no purchase is required.

The 2014 Vail Cruiser Crawl series will feature a different route each month:

Wednesday June 11th 5-8pm

Sunday July 13th 3-6pm

Sunday August 10th 3-6pm

All bikes are welcome on the crawl. For folks that do not have a bike, Charter Sports at the Vail Cascade Resort are offering discounted rates on bike rentals. No advance registration is required.
