Veterans Day Promotion in Atwater on Gore Creek

The U.S. Armed Forces is considered one of the world's largest militaries, comprised of countless service men and women that dedicate their lives to serve and protect the red, white and blue. To show gratitude for their fearless contributions, Vail Cascade Resort's Managing Director John Garth invites all active and retired service personnel to enjoy a FREE dinner entrée on Monday, November 10 or a FREE breakfast, lunch or dinner entrée on Tuesday, November 11 in Atwater on Gore Creek, the hotel’s signature restaurant.

Soldiers know firsthand that a home cooked meal is hard to come by when deployed. While Garth recognizes that the Vail Cascade cannot singlehandedly make up for the number of missed meals, the hotel aims to do their part to narrow the margin one meal at a time.

“Our nation is a beacon of freedom thanks to the millions of men and women who have fought and continue to fight to protect our rights, liberties and independence, said Garth. “We are eternally grateful for their years of service and look forward to now serving them at our Vail hotel on Veteran's Day."

To make a reservation, please visit Atwater on Gore Creek or call (970) 479-7014.
Valid military ID is required. One entree per personnel. No other purchase is required and all taxes are included. Gratuity and alcoholic beverages are excluded and advanced reservations are recommended.

Welcome to the beginning of winter!

We have already seen a considerable amount of snow up in the Vail Valley, and all projections are for an amazing, snowy ski season. Given the rainy summer, it seems like it would be easy to have an epic snowfall year. Cheers to that!

At Vail Cascade we’re ramping up with new winter menus, fall pumpkin beer specials, and preparing for menu development tastings for the Avery/Dogfish Head and Papago/Van Steenberge dinners at the Big Beers Festival in January. It’s all coming up faster than you can believe!

There's a different menu tasting for the opening weekend of Vail Mountain, however, and we’re excited to welcome Matt “Truck” Thrall, Head Brewer at Avery Brewing Co., and his team for a special Opening Brewmaster’s Weekend.  As is traditional, we will host Truck and team for Meet the Brewmaster on Friday in Fireside Bar and the Small Plates & Craft Beer Pairing on Saturday in Atwater on Gore Creek.

Come on up November 21 & 22 to get first tracks for the ski season & enjoy some great beers! On Friday after you’re done skiing or snowboarding, sample a variety of Avery goodies, and discuss craft beer with Truck from 4–7pm in Fireside Bar. This is a complimentary tasting, and you can simply stop in anytime to visit.

Saturday’s Small Plates & Craft Beer Pairing event is more formal, starting at 6pm in Atwater on Gore Creek, and featuring a guided tour of the food & pairing inspirations by the Atwater culinary team, and stories about the specific Avery beers, ingredients and brewing processes by Avery’s Head Brewer. Truck will lead the discussion in advance of each of the four courses, and the chefs will tag team as the courses are served. I would encourage you to reserve your seats for this Small Plates event, as we anticipate filling up quickly. Seats are $35++/person, and you can call 970-479-7014 or email Laura to reserve your seats.

I would also like to formally thank David Zuckerman and his family for coming up to host the Boulder Beer Brewmaster’s Weekend in September. We had a delightful weekend, with a really busy tasting evening on Friday night and delicious pairings on Saturday. There were several guests that were new to the Brewmaster’s Weekend adventure, and all were excited and pleased to be there.

Thank you all for your support of the Vail Cascade Brewmaster’s Weekends. They are really fun to put together, and there are just an amazing number of talented brewers creating amazing craft beer for us to bring to visit. The chefs at Atwater on Gore Creek simply revel in the opportunity to create “out of the box” flavor combinations to showcase both the beer and the food; it’s really a treat for them.

Save the November 21 & 22nd weekend for Avery Brewmaster’s Weekend, and we’ll look forward to seeing you! Please remember that valet parking is always complimentary for our guests in Fireside Bar and Atwater on Gore Creek. I’ll update you with the beer selections next, and then with the final menu as we get closer.

In the meantime, let it snow!
